This is an adding machine made by L. C. Smith and Corona Typewriters Inc., better known as Smith and Corona. On the top of the case is the word, "Corona," and on the bottom of the case is the manufacturer's name.

An adding machine is a type of calculator. These machines were much bigger and heavier than a normal calculator. The keyboard is also much different from the keyboards of modern calculators due to the amount of keys. On the side of an adding machine is a lever. When pulled, it will stamp the information from the machine onto a roll of paper.
